Camping at Fishlake

We went camping this fall at Fishlake (central Utah). Mom and Dad came up the next day and we went fishing out on the lake in their boat (water too cold for our ski boat). We did not catch anything big, but we had fun riding 4-wheelers and eating good campfire food.

We went fishing with my mother and father at Strawberry Res. and we found minnows in the water with our dead fish in the live trap in the boat. So Jayde proceeded to say that she wanted a fish - so this is what she wanted at the store. Poor guy (male) he is now living in a princess's world.

DC Trip - Our Time in DC

Our trip to DC was for my work. I had a week long conference at the Capital, cool huh, and then a couple of days the following week in the DC office. We had a blast sightseeing, but man we were tired by the end of the trip, as you can tell by Jayde falling asleep everywhere we went. She was a trooper! We saw almost everything: Arlington Cemetery, Tomb of the Unknown Solder (change of solders, very cool), George Washington's house and farm, House Gallery (Capital), many museums, all the monuments, cherry blossoms (they bloomed early - yeah!), went on a tour of a double decker bus that was open on top and Jayde thought that was great, she also loved the underground cho choo that she road on everyday.

We were happy to go but even happier to get home. For us, it is a nice place to visit, but we would not move there. Sorry Grandma and Grandpa Edens!

DC Trip - Richmond, VA at Parent's House

We spent 5 days in Richmond, VA with Tom's parents, sister and brother touring the area and just hanging out. We spent one day at Virginia Beach, a day at historical Williamsburg and Jamestown (some of the first settlements - if you listened in history class, I guess I didn't), toured a really old and neat cemetery where some American Presidents are buried. Jayde played restaurant on gravestones, blackmail someday. We just had a blast!

Jayde's Best Friends

Our neighbors, Holland and Sutherland, are Jayde's best friends. Those two are so good to her and they love her to death, even though Jayde bosses them around. This day it was so cold but everyone wanted to go outside, so everyone got bundled up and were rolling down our backyard hill.

Jayde's daycare has a day when they all go trick-or-treating around the office. She had a fun time, but she got so much candy that she could not hold her pumpkin with the treats in it. They also colored pumpkins and had a fun time. She was a white kitty-cat for this party. She had several that week.

Jordan had a heck of a time carving a pumpkin this year. There is a reason why the lid is cut at an angle and he found out why. He cut his lid straight up and down, then his lid got stuck in the pumpkin. It literally took him about 30 minutes to get it out and I just sat, watched and laughed. Jayde too colored on her pumpkin, again.

He is Tom's son who has been out of the picture since he was little, but now we have brought him back into our lives and his mother is turning another cheek and letting it happen. Jayde Turned 3-Years-Old

On Saturday we had a big birthday party for Jayde at our house. Thankfully it was excellent weather so all 15 little children (all under the age of 9) and 15 adults could hang out in the backyard for games and cupcakes. Costumes were optional and even though we had gotten Jayde a cute kitty-cat costume, she wanted to wear her butterfly costume from last year which still fit her.

At her party we had a pumpkin walk and painted little pumpkins for the kids to take home. Then everyone sang happy birthday to Jayde and she got a special big cupcake (that I made) and the kids ate little cupcakes that Tom made with me frosting them. Then we opened presents, which I must say, I am use to the neighborhood kids giving dollar items, well not in my neighborhood, they gave great presents to Jayde. Then she opened her big gift from us, a jeep. She loves it!

Grandma and Grandpa Shepard, Suzy, Blake & friend, Haley & friend, Becky and Kent all made the party. It was a nice surprise to have all of them there and we had a nice luncheon afterwards. Thank you to all who came and supported Jayde - she talks about all of you, often.

Potty Trained

We are so prouf of our little Jayde, she is officially potty trained. Only diaper at night and nap time for now, but other than that she is doing great. Last night she was out ridding her bike and she told us "I am going to have an accident" only accident comes out at asctedent or something like that. We ran in and then she said, "oh accident is gone." But then a few minutes later she was going to have another accident and she went on the potty. What a cutie!

Fall Color Ride

Last Saturday we decided to go for a drive east and see the fall colors. We ended up in Randolph, UT and then to Bear Lake and then to Logan. Colors were really pretty, not quite at their peak yet, but we had a fun drive. Finally out into the mountains. Jayde asked me the other day if we could go into the mountains. She loves what we love - the outdoors!

Herriman Fire - My Hero

Tom was on this fire, the Herriman Fire, in south Salt Lake City where several thousand people were evacuated from their homes and a total of 3 homes lost. He arrived with the rest of the crew on Sunday afternoon in the helicopter, landing in the neighborhood. A dozer was sitting there waiting to be told what to do, so Tom got the dozer and started making a fire line around the homes. Tom literally ran in front of the dozer telling him where to go trying to save the homes. He worked all afternoon Sunday and all through the night like this. He saved over 35 homes that night and was exhausted on Monday morning when he finally got a break.

This photo was taken by a friend of ours who lives in the area. Tom said the fire was biting their butts the entire night. But because my husband is so awesome, he saved all those homes. Later that week when some of the families were able to get back to their homes, they were brought over to Tom because they personally wanted to say thank you to him. He said one lady was crying hysterically. Made him feel good - like what he does really makes a difference. I proud of him!

Heber Valley Railroad

We went over Labor Day Weekend to Heber and road the Heber Valley Railroad with some friends from Idaho - Summer, Kevin and little Addie. Jayde and Addie really bonded and had a fun time - they are only 1 1/2 months apart from one another.

Carnival at Jayde's School

Jayde's school had a carnival and papa and grandma were able to come and see her school. She wanted her face painted like a purple kitty. There were games, prizes and food. I have never seen my little girl be so shy. She did not talk, smile, nothing - she just hung on to me and played a little. After we got outside she started acting like her cute little self. Believe it or not, I too can be very shy in crowds although just about everyone who knows me would say it differently. Now Jayde is trying to decide what to be for Halloween, since we will paint her face because she loved it.

Flaming Gorge Trip

For my birthday Tom took us to Flaming Gorge on the new boat. We camped, tubed and just played - it was awesome! I love that place. Jayde was awesome. We camped by some people who had some little kids who Jayde played with all night and had a blast. We will be back soon!

They were spending last week in Utah with them and came to have dinner at our house one night. They are both getting so big. These are Tom's brothers children from California.

Putting Papa to Work

Here is the game, Papa or Grandma sit waiting with the broom in hand. Jayde pours Papa's rocks (which if you know my father he racks his rocks to make sure they look perfect) onto the sidewalk, where they have to look through the rocks with their fingers for ants or earwigs, which if you find some you smash, then Papa or Grandma have to sweep the rocks off the sidewalk. This is usually a constant game or work while at their house. She loves it!

We went to the Ogden parade then picked up Tom's sister Chelsea from the airport. She spent the week with us looking at the area. Chelsea, Jayde and I went to mom and dad's for a few days to ride 4-wheelers and light fireworks. Jayde just loves ice cream, as does every child, but even Hope liked the ice cream cone too. By the way - sorry dad I forgot to do poopy patrol before we left - opps.

Here is Jayde riding the neighbors horse last night. She gets to go over every night and feed the horses and get the eggs from the chickens, but last night she got to ride the horse with our neighbor girls (her two best friends). Our neighbor Wendy, my good friend, led the horse. Jayde is so good at being quiet, holding on tight and sitting still on the horse. She loved it!

Our New Adventure Has Begun

Well, we made it into our new home the beginning of May. We love it and the neighborhood is awesome! Jordan spent most of June with us and we had a fun time hiking, swimming, 4-wheeling at Grandma and Grandpa's in Fillmore and many other fun things. I will add to this post and put photos of the home on here so you can see how nice it really is.

With the move I decided we are de-junking our lives. I have 10 big boxes for either a yard sell or DI. We are also selling many things that we do not need or use and someone else can use them. Why I have 3 kitchen tables in my house I have yet to find out, but at least one will be leaving. The other extra is nice for projects, I guess. Just things like that I wonder why we do this to ourselves.

Jayde loves her daycare or as we call school and they are awesome and so secure. The teachers all have at least a BS and majority with a Masters in childhood education. She loves it there!

Tom's job is going well on the helicopter. Know he wants to fly more than ever, so we will see where that takes us.

Jordan turned 11 this year. Tom attempted making him a birthday cake, as you can see it turned out REALLY WELL - JK. Tom took him to go and see motocross at the monster truck rally. They both loved it. Then we went to the airplane museum. He is getting so big and turning into a teenager, already.

Girls Trip to San Fransisco

Last weekend I went with some girlfriends to San Fransisco. We got on the bus in Lehi at 8:30 p.m. and arrived in San Fransisco at 11 a.m. at the Golden Gate Bridge. Very long ride and very little sleep! Then the bus took us back to our hotel where we showered and got ready for the night.

That night we went to "Wicked" (a Broadway play about the Wizard of Oz and the Wicked Witch of the West and how she became wicked). It was awesome! The music and performing was spectacular. I would go and see it again.

The next day we went out to Alcatraz then shopped on Pier 39. We loaded the buses at 6:30 p.m. and arrived at our cars at 9 a.m. But I slept the entire trip! I was exhausted! Tons of fun, laughs, and shopping. Another good time with the girls.

Jayde just cracks us up! I thought I would share some words/phrases that she uses often:

Sponge Bob is Square Bob
She counts from 1-9 perfectly (most of the time) then 14, 20, cinco (out little girl is bilenguel)

She calls Jordan Jo Jo and sometimes Do Do if she is excited
She always talks about Big Jet (the planes that fly above our house or the planes at the museum)
Helicopter is pronounced Helptcopter
She has some shirts that are pock-a-doted and she calls them pockylots
Every now and then she will call me Joanna and her father Tom (just like everyone else - stinker she knows what she is doing because she giggles with it)
When she talks to the dog (Hope) or the cat (kitty) she has a very soft voice. The kid of voice you use when talking to little kids. She also calls Hope - Hopie.
She knows many animals sounds and is very animated when saying them: snake, owl, cow, horse, sheep, frog, kitty, puppy, Hope (panting sound), fish (funny lip noise), alligator (teeth chomping), and many more that I cannot think of at this time.
She is also quite the bouncer - has been ever since a baby. We bounce like a frog up and down the stairs all the time, with the noises.
She talks in sentences, which has been so good for communicating with her. The other day at church a little boy gave her a truck and she patted him on the head and said "thank you so very much, that was so nice of you." No kidding!
When we say ouch she asks "are you ok".
In the store last night she accidentally ran into someone and she said "oh, sorry".
Also in the store last night a lady was not watching where she was pushing her stroller and was heading right for Jayde and she yelled out "watch out" to the lady. We all laughed.

Hopefully this gives you a few laughs like it does us every second of the day.

Our new adventure

Well we made it to Utah and have been here for a month - man time flys by fast. We are living in a rental, for now. I joke that we have lake front property, but what people do not realize it that it is the Great Salt Lake that I am talking about with swampland. We also have a lovely water/sewer treatment plant close by us and a dairy farm. So when that fog/smog sets in the morning, it smells so good at our house. I want to make a candle out of the smell, just kidding. When we first got to the rental home, I walked outside one morning and smelled sewer. I was concerned that we had a problem but come to find out we just have the sewer as a neighbor. Fortunately it does not smell like that all the time and actually we enjoy being next to the farm so Jayde can see the moo moo cows all the time. I joke around, but am quite serious that my favorite neighbors would be cows. They are so relaxing to me and I do not mind the smell other than a dairy farm. Just a little to strong for me at times. I tease Jordan all the time that they should make an air freshener out out cow manure. He thinks I am a dork.

Job is going well, just a little change (commute, sky rise, etc). Tom is adapting being a stay at home dad right now. He has been looking into different schools and deciding what he wants to be when he grows up. Endless opportunities here! Jayde is also adapting, but has only taken a nap 3 times. She usually falls asleep in her car seat on the way to the store because she is so tired. Then about every third night she falls asleep on the couch at 6 p.m. and wakes up 45 minutes later wanting to go night night. Then she is out for the night. She just plays and plays until she crashes out, but does not want anything to do with a nap. A big change for us and her!

I will keep everyone posted on our happening here. All is well and we are just happy to be closer to so many friends and family.

Jayde at the Farm in Fillmore

We went to Fillmore a couple of months ago and we took her down to show her the sheep, horses, chickens, cows and goats. She just loves farm animals. She chased those sheep and goats around the pasture for quite awhile. First she would sneak up on them and then they would run and she would run with them and just laugh. I told Tom that we need to get some farm animals, we will see what home we buy, maybe we can make that happen.

Hill Air Force Museum

Jayde just loves airplanes and Tom has been taking her to see the airplanes at the museum every week. If you have not been here it is worth stopping and seeing all of them. They did a really nice job of displaying so many planes. Jayde is the best two year old I have ever seen when we are in the museum. She sits quietly in her stroller and only whispers when she talks. When we left the other day she said that she wants to take Papa to see them next time. She also loves Disney Channels show "Little Einsteins" and on the show is rocket and mean big jet. Well all the jets at the museum are big jet including all the F-16 that fly over the house on a daily basis. What a cutie!

Tom's big news

The other day Tom was browsing around face book looking for friends and decided to see if he could find his long lost sister, Regina. Well he found her! They have been talking to each other ever since. It is so neat. It was so cute the first call they made because she started talking and he said to her "you sound like my Regina". There is so much to talk about and get caught up on including finding out that their mother did pass away several years ago due to complications of diabetes at age 32 or 33.

They both wanted to see each other and she is dying to come up here, so she is planning a trip to Utah the end of March. We are looking forward to seeing her and possibly her boyfriend. She lives in San Diego and only 20 minutes from their nieces Becca and Samantha (brother Jeff's children). It is such a small world.

We have been sharing genealogy with her about their mother and their sister, Jodi, who we still cannot find. At least we know now that someone has stolen their mother's identity (SSN) and we are going to try to get more information so we can get that stopped. We also do not know where she is buried, birth date, parents (other than her mother, I now have her name), and so much more.

It is funny, I found a Regina with a December birth date but could not find anything else about her, and that turned out to be his sister. Searching on the web really does work and I cannot believe that of all the places, face book brought those two together again. So the search will continue but now we have one more person who has been doing the same thing.

Two years ago Tom was looking on the Internet and found his brother's ex-wife and children, who also live in San Diego. Since we have been down there to see them, camped in Yellowstone with them and ate Thanksgiving dinner with them in Utah at their grandparents house. She gave us a lot of good information that we did not have and helped us get to Regina. The search continues and more to come...

Off to a new adventure...

Well as many of you know by now we are moving to northern Utah. I got a new position as the assistant director of communications for the Forest Service in the Regional Office. Pretty neat! Tom is working on several job and college options. This will be a good move, closer to family and good move career wise for both of us. The bad thing is that we will be finding a new sitter for Jayde - I hate that part - and Jordan will still be in Idaho, but we will see him just as much if not more than we do here.

It will be fun living next to Kara & Wayne, Jen and many other friends and family. We are very excited but also very nervious. I am not worried about work, nor am I worried about Tom finding something to keep him busy (work, school, Jayde), I am more worried about moving and finding a good sitter for Jayde. It will work out in the end. We were not really looking for a move right now, just this position came open and we felt good about it. Tom is especially excited to get back to a city - he loves having so many options as to what to do with your time. I am a little nervious about moving to the city, but we have been looking at homes on the outskirts of town. That makes me feel better to not be in the hussel and bussel of things. I will keep everyone posted on the move! Wish us luck!

Halloween at the Zoo

Jayde's 2nd Birthday

Jayde turned two this year and she loved blowing out the candles and licking the icing off the cupcakes. This year she got a trampolenne and other fun toys. She is getting so big and talking so much - you can acutally understand most of what she says, which has been fun. Happy birthday our little baby girl!

Camping at Gilmore

We went camping, fishing and 4-wheeler at Gilmore, which is a old mining town and now a ghost town by Salmon. We all had a blast riding and fishing with Jordan's aunt and family (Lori, Dennis, Christine and Shantell). Jordan's 4-wheeler broke down the last day on the last ride and had to get towed home. It was very steep and he did a great job. His Uncle Dennis and councin Shantell are in these photos helping him. Jayde had a blast "going for a ride".

Utah Trip for Memorial Weekend

We went to Utah for Memorial Weekend to visit my parents. We met up with my two sisters in Lehi at Thanksgiving Point where Jayde had a fun time playing in the water. While in Fillmore we went for 4-wheeler rides and picnics.

Mom and Dad were able to come and see us again this year for the 4th of July. Temps were in the low 80. Man it was a nice weekend. We even had to wear jackets.

I took them to Cave Falls in Yellowstone, which is actually not in the main part of Yellowstone and is beautiful.

Building the Garage

Tom has pretty much built this garage all on his own with the help of friends. He designed and is now getting ready to roof the building. The camper and soon to be all our toys will go in the garage, which means I will get my garage back for the vechiles. It is 41 feet long by 18 feet and 20 feet tall. It is a big building. Our trailer looks so small in it! Tom also built Jayde a play area with the swing set that has its own "bouncer". He also built me a neat corner for my garden (that will look better soon) with a log fence and arbor. It looks cool and will look cooler once I work more in that corner. Man I have a good husband!

Kauai Adventures

Tom and I got one full day to ourselves with mom and dad watching the children in the condo and pool-side. We decided to go for a snorkling trip on the Napli Cost (where Jarasic Park was filmed), which is the side of the island that you can only get to by boat, helicoptor or foot (miles of a hike). We saw whales, dolphines, turtles and spectacular scenery. We had a blast! Mom and Dad also got one full day to themselves, without children, and they went for a ATV/kayake adventure. They also took a couple more hours and went ziplinning - which we all need to go and do in Park City.

One day mom, dad, Jordan and I went snorkling and swam with turtles, sharks (no kidding), dolphins and many many fish. Tom and Jayde hung out together on the beach!

Fun in the Sun

We spent 7 days on Kauai and 3 days on Ohau, with a total of a 10 day vacation. It was not long enough. Tom decided that we will move here and he will teach surfing lessons and I will do PR for some resort. Sounds good! You all can visit us here!

Jordan learned how to boogie board (the board is sitting in his room), Jayde played in the sand and water, Tom and Jordan sea kayaked, mom and dad learned how to snorkle along with Jordan, well we just had a blast!

Pearl Harbor

We spent the day at Pear Harbor, what a humbling experience. We went on the memorial, toured a submarine and battle ship. Very neat day! Tom and Jordan got there photos with three navy personnel who were here when this all happened. We have their autographs in a book.

Here we are swiming at Wakiki Beach, which our hotel was only two blocks from, at the Poloneasion Cultural Center (spelling?) and at the LDS Temple. We had a fun day at the center with a tour to the temple grounds. The temple was under construction, that is why it is not as white as you normally see it. The dancing and luai was amazing, which Jayde spelt through. Jordan got to try his hand at hunting they way they use to and won a cool handmade bandana and he and I got tatoos.

We got to go on a cano ride and learn about the different cultures.

Jayde loves to help wash her bottles. She even helps me clean-up with a rag once we are done. There usually is a lot of water, so it is all very needed.

Her other favorite thing is to sit in our front window looking outside. We moved our coffee table to the window and a chair to she can climb up and down when she wants to look outside.

Just a family update...

I appologize, it has been awhile since I have wrote and updated our blog. Things have been hecktic, as everyone, but man we have made some progress on our home and in life. Tom has been gone to many trainings for weeks on end, but that is finally all complete. We have been busy finishing the basement (mudding now), which has been a huge job. Once we are complete the entire basement will be done. Yeah!

We have been spending our time getting ready for our big vacation to Hawaii! We are all way excited! Jayde is getting so big and saying so many things now. She knows all her body parts and many animal sounds, plus some extras. I bet you did not know that the sun actually makes a very scary sound. We did not know this until the other night. Interesting! Her hair is finally long enough in the back to make pig tails. Way cute!

Jordan only has a few more weeks of school left and cannot wait til summer vacation. Many fun things planned for him this summer, on both sides. Here are some odd and end photos of everyone!

Basement Work Beginning

We got sheet rock delivered for the whole basement. This is what Tom use to do, run the truck and crane. There was only two people that showed-up on the truck so he had to go to work. He does not miss that job, although he was very strong back then, just kidding he still is strong. Right now he is almost done sheet rocking the one bedroom. We are getting very excited!

Jordan Playing Basketball

Jordan has been playing basketball every Saturday morning (either 8 or 9 am for games). This has been a great opporunity for him and he is doing very well at it. Because he is one of the tallest boys on the team and he has big hands. He makes several baskets every game and does a great job at defense, including getting the ball from the other team. We are very proud of him!

Pulling Faces

Jayde has this new thing when the camera is pointed at her she pulls funny faces. Here she is pulling all the tissues out of the tissue box, loads of fun! Dad bought her a new chair, when I got home from work he said "I don't even feel back, it was so cute I had to get it for my little cutie."

Tom and the neighborhood kids (including Jordan) made a 10 foot snowman in January. Usually our snow here is really light and fluffy, not good for snowman making, but this snow storm was wet. So all the neighbors worked on making the biggest snowman, ours won! Tom had to use the ATV ramp to get the second ball onto the smowman. Fun day! When Jayde woke-up, all she could say was "WOW".

This year Tom got a snowblower, but since we really have not had any snow or drift. Jordan got a new stereo for his room, which he is hugging in this photo. Jayde got a huge lion and many other toys, which she had to open all her presents sitting on top of the lion. Joanna got a fly fishing rod, MP3 player and a heart locket necklace (from Jordan).

Jayde, as many other children, loves toilet paper. When you come to our house and go to the bathroom, you have to get into the sink in order to get the toilet paper you may need to finish your job.

She was really quiet this evening and come to find out she was very busy. I know that when she is quiet she is usually up to something. What a cutie!

Elk Hunting Trip

Jordan, Tom, Jayde and I went hunting, while the weather was still good and now we have snow on the ground, in the trailer. Tom did not get anything, yet. Hopefully the snow will push them lower and together. We all had a blast! See her poor nose and head, she feel down the stairs on the trailer. Camping brings dirt and bruses! Jordan is such a great big brother.

He got to go hunting for the first time with Tom and had fun. He even saw a dead elk that a man shot, too bad it was not dad who shot it. It died on the side of the road. How do people get so lucky!

Halloween for 2008

This was Jayde's first Halloween (with dressing up). Last year she was in the hospital and mom and dad were recooperating. I cannot belive that it was one year ago that we were in the hospital awaiting her recovery and holding a new little baby girl.

Jayde was a Ferry Pumpkin for Halloween and Jordan was a dead doctor (no photos yet). I also dressed-up as a worn-out mother (kinda fits the bill) and Tom dressed-up as a hunter (he was hunting that day and just stayed in the attire.

She also loves talking on the phone to whomever, even the lady who says "if you would like to make a call....". We had a birthday party for her on October 30th, her birthday. We had mice ice cream pies, really cute and good. She loves ice cream and did not care for the cake and icing. She had on her costume with all our friends, neighbors and even Jordan was able to come and party. I sent the older kids, Jordan and friends, outside to carve our pumpkins, so they had a fun time too.

We decided since so many of our family members would be in Utah near her birthday that we would have a party for her, early. She liked Tinker Bell on her cake, but did not care for the cake taste and wanted a cracker instead. Then she sat on her big boxed presents to unwrap the little ones. She got from us a playhouse for little people and a pink bus that they ride in. Her aunts spoiled her with cloths and toys. Grandma and Grandpa got her a Barbie bike. She got spoiled and had a blast!

Fun at Grandma & Grandpa's House

We had such a fun time in Utah with the family. As you can see it snowed and Jordan made a snowman, first one this year. Jordan and Jayde were able to play with their cousins for awhile on Sunday and played with Grandma and Grandpa. Jayde had a thing with all the celing fans running. When she woke up from naps or in the AM, she would craw to every room that had a fan and say a few words, then point at the fan until it was turned on. She also loved the piano and crawling and sitting on the bottom of the shelves. Jayde's cousin Haley brought her turtle with her and Jayde just talked and pointed at it.

Riding in the Snow

The secon day of 4-wheeling in Utah was in the snow. Jayde and Grandma stayed home and played, while the rest of us toughened-up and went for a very nice ride. Because this trail had some hairy spots, Jordan wanted to ride in the back of the Rino for the trip.

This past weekend we all headed to Utah to see my parents and sisters. The first day ATVing Jayde was able to go because it was warmer, but Grandma had to work. Jayde rode on the front of me in a harness and talked, yelled, waved and jumped to the riders behind us. She loved watching them ride behind her.

Jordan had a great time riding his 4-wheeler. He is getting really good at it. We took him to the "Lakes" above town and when we got their he said "No really, where are the lakes?" I had to inform him that here in Utah puddles of mud are lakes to these folks.

Tom enjoyed riding his motorcycle for almost the first time this year, we have been very busy. The fall colors were pretty much over, but that fall smell was great!

I have such wonderful pets, as I have mentioned before. Both the dog (Hope) and the cat (or Titty as Jayde calls her) both put up with a lot. This was the same day we were laying the sod in the front yard. Hope found a tennis ball and Jayde also wanted to play with it. Jayde crawled over and took the ball out of Hope's mouth and proceeded to play with it. Once Jayde threw the ball, Hope ran over and got the ball again. This kept going on for an hour.

The other day the poor "Titty" was used as a mop on the floor and a chair. She has never scratched Jayde, yet. I think she knows that she would get a butt chewing if she ever did scratch Jayde. She would rather just be outside and not bother with the pulling of the hair, being sat on or having her tail or ear pulled.

The end of last week we worked very hard to get the yard ALMOST done for the fall-time/winter season, which is quickly approaching (highs in the 60s with a cold wind). We laid sod in the front yard and seeded the backyard. I am slowly getting the shurbs and plants in the ground in the front yard. Next year we will put down the weed fabric and bark.

Jayde had a blast playing in the mud, dirt and water. When it was all over with, she had been scooping dirt down her shorts, so her diaper and shorts were filled with dirt/mud, but she had a blast!

Jayde is now crawling everywhere and getting into everything, which I love. She loves to play the keyboard and dance to the music. She is getting so strong and pulling herself up onto everything. The cat officially wants to stay outside, where she is safe from getting clumps of hair pulled out and the dog just puts up with the ear, eye, tail, hair and whisker pullings. Jayde just loves both of them, including Jordan her big brother.

Yellowston Trip

The first part of August Tom, Jayde and I went to Yellowstone camping with Tom's necies Rebbeca and Samantha, who live in San Diego. These are his brother's children who we all met for the first time last year while on our trip to Disneyland. Acutally, Tom met them before, but they were very young. This is the only "blood" family that he is in touch with. It was really fun and it gave us a chance to get to know them even better. What cute girls!

White Trash...Churning up the Soil

This was May 17th, Tom wanted to churn-up the soil so the weeds would slow down. The ride went from Tom sitting on the plow to, a lawn chair, then an umbrella. Then Jordan and his friends (neighbors) saw the event and they traded places. Everyone had a blast and we got the yard work done. The weight was actually really nice, it helped the forks get deeper in the soil. Jayde loved riding the 4-wheeler with mom. She feel asleep while riding.
